Abstract:

Surgical pathology is a new generation of diagnostic pathology, coming to an increasing importance in practical work. The method enables the practitioner to determine the biological behaviour and the exact histotype of samples collected by biopsy or surgery and also serves as an efficient method to discover the prognotic elements and create a way of therapy.

The WHO classification of mammary gland tumors helps the determination of histotype, though to make a correct diagnosis, it is essential to examine resection edges (positive, negative, near infiltration), area between resection edges and histologic edge of tumor, and so called peritumoral region parameters (status of lymphatic and blood vessels, level of infection of peritumoral reaction, presence of tumor indicated stroma cells-myofibroblasts-perineural involvement, peritumoral praeneoplasias). In the process to make correct morphologycal and immunhistochemical examinaton, the following antibodies have been used: claudin-5, pancytokeratin, alfa-Smooth muscle actin, S-100 protein, CD3, CD20, CD68, CD79a, lysosyme, myeloperoxidase, PCNA, p53, c-Kit, Ki-67. The conclusions made on the experiment in practical work and in didaxis as well.
