Student's Research Circle (TDK) Regulations
1. Conditions for student participation in the TDK
-
The pre-evaluation of semester-based study performance has been removed as of 09. 2024.
-
First year and inactive/passivating students are not allowed to participate in the Conference.
-
Taking into account the clinical semesters, 6th year veterinary students can also participate in the TDK.
-
If a student fails to attend the TDK Conference, he/she must defend his/her TDK work as a regular thesis in the traditional way.
-
A Hungarian student may only submit a thesis in Hungarian and must give a presentation in Hungarian. An exception is made for Hungarian students in Zoology, who may choose to write/present their thesis in Hungarian or English.
-
The quality and scientific rigour of the TDK thesis is also the responsibility of the supervisor, who is obliged to know the content of the work and whether it meets the traditionally high standards of the TDK.
-
Only in-person presentations at the TDK conference are possible (no online presentation!).
2. Specifications of the topic
-
The TDK thesis must be the result of individual, scientific work with new results. In the paper or at the end of the presentation, a separate slide must indicate what the student's specific task was and what his/her own work was - this is also mandatory at the OTDK!
-
Literature review cannot be a TDK paper!
3. Formal requirements
-
The formal requirements of the TDK thesis are similar to those of the diploma thesis, but may differ slightly, as the purpose is different - in case of an unsuccessful thesis, there is sufficient time for revision
-
Papers that are not of the correct format (e.g. hand-drawn diagrams, mobile phone screen shots, etc.) or are not standardized and not structured according to the requirements will not be evaluated and reviewed.
-
The essay must be a minimum of 30 pages and a maximum of 40 pages (not including the bibliography).
-
The number of references should be at least 20 and not more than 50!
Please, read through our TDK regulation!
